ABOUT THE FOUNDER

GREETINGS!

My name is Joshua Scalise and I am the owner, founder, and head Health and Wellness Coach behind Afterwise Health. I’m also a proud husband and father.

 

My personal journey into health and wellness started with fertility challenges. My wife and I were eager to start our own family, but unfortunately, we found ourselves with several heartbreaking and reoccurring miscarriages.

 

After a referral to maternal-fetal specialist doctors, we were encouraged to focus on our overall health through proper nutrition and fitness. The challenge was our doctors didn’t give us the detailed information we needed to successfully follow their advice. And as residents of Greenville, South Carolina, we weren’t close to fitness professionals with experience in fertility fitness and nutrition.

 

As many adversities do, this situation pushed my wife and I to pursue more information. So, as the driven person I am, I embarked on a decade-long journey to absorb and learn everything I possibly could about nutrition and fitness, with a special focus on how to eat and work out to encourage fertility in both mom and dad.

 

As a result, I eventually earned my Master of Science in Sports and Health Sciences. I also went on to achieve my place on the American Council of Exercise as a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Health Coaching specialist. I also specialize in Weight Management, Fitness Nutrition, and am a certified Oh! Baby Fitness Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise instructor and have a Girls Gone Strong Pre- and Postnatal Certification.

 

My wife and I were shocked and ecstatic to discover after getting our health in order, she was pregnant with a baby girl! She went on to give birth to a healthy little girl, and my life hasn’t been the same since.

 

Our journey towards successful fertility encouraged me to launch my own online health and wellness coaching program. I feel for my clients, and I know each of us has our own journey. My dedication to helping you thrive physically and mentally is the force that drives my health and wellness programs. I want nothing more than to help other clients repeat my wife and I’s successful nutrition and fitness experience. I know you can do it because we did!
